Nope, not what I read in 2025, although I'll get that out here maybe tomorrow. I have it all in Storygraph and an easy way to turn it into a useful list. Instead, I wanted to share this post: https://today.yougov.com/entertainment/articles/53804-most-americans-didnt-read-many-books-in-2025
- How many books does the average person read? Zero.
- Median: slightly better at two (2) because of heavy readers.
- How many did I read in 2025: 58 (and it was a light year and definitely light compared to some friends, particularly where reorgs and studying AI on Udemy got in the way).
- What % read 50+ books: 4%
- Fun fact: 19% of Americans read 82% of the books.
There's a lot of cool stats there including differences between men and women when it comes to genres and more. Worth a few minutes of perusing all the cool graphs.
