Not Quite Oxymoronic

I know I should riff on the repubs for the similarities between fundamental Islam and fundamental Christianity with their freedom fries, but mostly I question why it is that it's so horrible that there be an image of Mohammed, and yet it's o.k. to rename a damn pastry after him. Picture in the paper...bad. Name on a crappy donut...acceptable (via Fark).
Iran has decided to rename Danish pastries "Mohammedan" pastry - a new twist in the crisis which has triggered protest by Muslims throughout the world against cartoons of Mohammed first published in Denmark. The name change recalls when some Americans started calling French fries, "Freedom fries" to protest France's
opposition to the United States-led invasion of Iraq.
By the way, I like P.Z.'s take on the whole issue of the cartoons.
