A short lesson in home repair

If you suspect your water heater is leaking and you own central air, check the drainage tube on the furnace/air unit first, particularly if it runs all the way around the edge of the room and it’s been particularly humid.  We came within a few hours of ordering a new water heater installed, only to find out the tube was plugged, the drainage pan was full, and almost 5 gallons of water a day were pouring out of the furnace and onto the floor.
