It seems Tom Tomorrow has a post about the recent issue of Harper's that I referenced in an earlier post - "Randomness", about five (5) posts ago - I reiterate below so linking doesn't cause you to skip reading the article. Tom adds an excerpt from another article than the one I mentioned (it's a whole issue about religion in America) that's a fascinating look back at one person's prediction.
3.) A wonderful (and scary) article from The Revealer, Soldiers of Christ - Inside America's most powerful megachurch - an article for Harper's. Absolutely worth reading. Well written and some moments that are hilarious and terrifying at the same moment. I think Mean Mr. Mustard and Klund will appreciate the part where one of the worshippers starts talking about Lord of the Rings and Christianity and their similarities (do a search on Balrog).
