Not a Mayoral Race...

...but it's the best we could manage down here in Eagan. Three levies were on the ISD 196 November 8 vote, and all three passed. They didn't pass with overwhelming majorities, even those that would have decreased our property taxes (we discussed whether there were that many people who wanted to end the public school system down here at work today), but by several thousand votes in the case of 1 and 3 (the money comes back and costs us $0 questions), and by over a thousand votes in the case of #2, a $430 per pupil levy for the next 10 years. For those of you who are upset about that extra property tax, I voted to pay it and I don't yet have a child in your schools (two more years, minimum) and own two houses above the median home value in your school district -our levy will cost me over $500 a year for no immediate benefit to me other than smarter Eaganites. I'm perfectly willing to give up my cable if necessary.
