Blunt himself was dating a Philip Morris lobbyist

Out of the frying pan and into the fire. Out with the old, in with the same old. From bad to worse. I'm sure you know all of the similar sayings. You can probably apply them to any resolution of the DeLay indictment that involves a consideration of his replacement. I hate it when they make my dances of joy seem so utterly pointless.
"Blunt’s best-known special-interest intervention was a 2003 late-night attempt — unsuccessful, as it turned out — to add an amendment sought by Philip Morris. Blunt’s son then was a lobbyist for Philip Morris in Missouri; Blunt himself was dating a Philip Morris lobbyist whom he later married, and he had received more than $150,000 in contributions from the company and subsidiaries."
