I enjoyed watching this video Disneycember: Song of the South. I loved Song of the South when I was a kid. It was perhaps my favorite Disney movie. And yes, the tar-baby story was my favorite. I fully agree with Doug Walker that the cartoons were enjoyable, James Baskett was absolutely amazing (Eryn was surprised I knew all the words to Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah), and the rest of the story...eh.
I'm sure the obvious racial issues would bother and distract me now. Just like they often do in Loony Toons shorts. But through the lens of my childhood, it's a good memory.
